My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Alfredo is a snuggly sweetheart wrapped up in a tough-guy exterior. He's got his signature cat-eye glare down, but will become purring putty in your hands if you give him a few pets and a warm, cozy blanket to curl up in. If you need some alone-time, Alfredo has no issue keeping himself occupied either, finding intense joy in just about any toy he can get his paws on. He's smart and adaptable, making him perfect for just about any home. Come meet Alfredo today--you won't regret it.

More about this rescue

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.

Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
