Meet Mighty Mouse, a little guy with a name that suits him perfectly.

Mighty Mouse came to us injured and recently had his tail amputated, and he’s recovering beautifully. Through it all, he’s been nothing but sweet, gentle, and quietly brave. He’s still healing and still figuring out who he is, so his full personality hasn’t made its grand debut just yet.

What we do know? He’s kind, easygoing, and has already proven he’s tougher than he looks. Once he’s feeling 100% and settled into a home, we expect his confidence and charm to grow right along with him.

If you’re looking for a cat with a resilient spirit and a soft heart, Mighty Mouse is ready to show you that heroes come in small packages. 🐾💙

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fees for dogs includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, de-wormer, flea and tick prevention, heart worm prevention, heart worm tested, and microchip registration.

Adult Dogs: $200
Puppies: $225

Cat adoption fees include spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, de-wormer, FIV/FeLV testing, flea and tick prevention, and microchip registration.

Adult Cats: $75 (or $125 for a pair)
Kittens: $90 (or $150 for a pair)

Since 1979, the Effingham County Humane Society has been committed to serving Effingham County, IL and the surrounding area. We are located in the former Funkhouser School, and our non-profit shelter is sustained by volunteers, fundraising, contributions, and adoption fees.

The goal of the Effingham County Humane Society is to reduce animal suffering in our county through educating and promoting responsible pet ownership, including spaying/neutering pets, appropriate pet identification, proper pet care, and the quality adoption of homeless pets.
