My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Charlie: The Bahamian Powerhouse & Your New Best Friend!
Are you looking for a loyal companion who is as strong as he is sweet? Meet Charlie, a stunning 1-to-2-year-old Bahamian Potcake who is ready to find his forever home!
At 66 pounds of solid muscle, Charlie is the definition of a "velcro dog." Whether he’s leaning in for pets or showing off his athletic build, Charlie is a big, lovable goofball who just wants to be part of the crew.
The Ultimate "Guy's Dog"
Charlie has a heart of gold and a special affinity for his male companions. He responds exceptionally well to calm, confident leadership and is looking for that "alpha" partner to bond with. If you’re an active man looking for a devoted sidekick for hikes, yard work, or just hanging out on the couch watching the game, Charlie is your man.
🐾 The Highlights:
• Social & Sweet: He gets along great with other dogs and is non-reactive to cats.
• Play Style: Charlie loves to play hard and rough! He’s looking for a buddy (human or canine) who can keep up with his strength.
• A+ Student: Charlie is already potty trained and crate trained. He’s currently polishing his leash skills and learning to walk like a gentleman without pulling.
🏠 The Ideal Match:
Because Charlie is a powerhouse who doesn't quite realize his own size, he needs a home that can provide:
• Firm Boundaries: He thrives with an assertive, calm owner who can provide clear structure and guidance.
• Older Kids: Due to his "bull in a china shop" play style, he’d be best suited for a home with older, larger children that won’t be easily knocked over by a happy wiggle.
• Room to Move: He’s solid muscle and needs an outlet for all that Bahamian energy!
🌟 Why You’ll Love Him:
• Charlie isn't just a dog; he’s a loyal protector and a constant shadow. If you are an experienced owner looking for a strong, athletic partner with a sensitive soul, Charlie is ready to meet you. He’s still a "teenager"! While he’s high-energy now, he will naturally settle and calm down as he matures.
Ready to bring home 66 pounds of pure muscle and love? Contact us today to meet Charlie! He is vaccinated, 4DX tested, neutered and microchipped.

More about this rescue

Pet Search is an all-volunteer, non-euthanizing rescue and placement service that has been in Washington County since 1985. Pet Search's philosophy is that all pets deserve a second chance for a hoe and love. Pet Search has chosen not to use a shelter-type environment with kennels and cages, but perfers to "home shelter" animals with volunteers in private homes. Pet Search is a privately funded organization, relying on the generousity of fellow animal lovers.
Pet Search provides the following programs:
* Animal Rescue and Placement/ Adoptions
* Fundraising
* Homeless and Feral Cat Trapping (aluminum recycling is used to fund this program)
* Humane Education
* Pet Therapy
* Rabies Plus Clinic- Low Cost inoculations (three times a year)
* Community Service Opportunities for students
* Other Public service programs, such as the Blessing of the Animals in October
FOSTER HOMES AND VOLUNTEERS ALWAYS WELCOME!!!
