If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Thistle is a playful, sweet, talkative, curious boy who was born on Valentine's Day 2025 (just under a year old). He is neutered and up to date on vaccines. He's great with our dog and our 7-year-old son, and he's the kind of cat who wants to be involved in whatever you’re doing.
This rehoming is not Thistle's fault. When my partner moved in, we introduced Thistle to our resident senior cat who has significant anxiety. Despite a slow, careful introduction over several months (separate spaces, scent swaps, calming aids, and vet guidance), our older cat has remained highly stressed and reactive to Thistle' presence, and any attempts at interaction escalate quickly. We’ve reached the point where both cats’ quality of life is being affected, and continuing to push for coexistence would be unfair to them.
We love Thistle dearly, and we want him to have a home where he can fully relax, play, and thrive. He’ll come home with a litter box, cat tree, and toys.
