My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Javi — The Roadside Rascal With a Heart of Gold! 🐾 Javi is a lively, pint-sized Terrier mix with a big personality and an even bigger story. This brave little guy was found on a busy road, weaving between cars and surviving on quick moves and even quicker instincts. Thankfully, he’s now safe — and ready to find a forever family who’ll show him what it feels like to be loved, secure, and home. At first, Javi may seem a bit shy. After everything he’s been through, he needs a moment to be sure he can trust you. But once that little nub starts wagging… it doesn’t stop! Give him a little time and a gentle approach, and you’ll quickly discover the real Javi: A joyful jumper — he pops around like a spring when he’s excited. A goofy little clown — he loves to make his people laugh with his silly antics. A loyal shadow — once he bonds, he wants to be part of your every adventure. Javi would thrive in a home that understands energetic breeds and appreciates a mix of fun, play, and patience. Because of his past, he’ll do best with people who can help him feel safe as he settles in. A secure yard and a family who enjoys active playtime would make him happiest. What Javi wants most is a family who sees past his rocky start and recognizes the bright, goofy, love-filled dog he truly is. Someone who will cheer him on as he learns new things, celebrates his courage, and lets him be the happy little clown he was always meant to be. If you’re looking for a small dog with a big spirit, a brave survivor with a silly streak, and a loyal companion for life — Javi is your guy. Come meet him and let him win you over, one happy hop at a time. Javi is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped & started on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Visit wagsandwigglesfw.com to apply!

More about this rescue

Wags & Wiggles is a non-profit, no-kill, volunteer dog rescue organization serving the Fort Wayne, Indiana metro area. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs left homeless for whatever reason – dogs in public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation, dogs given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect.
We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives.
Animals in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. To the extent our finances allow, dogs in the greatest need take priority.
We are determined to keep administrative expenses extremely low so that virtually every dollar taken in goes directly to the care of the animals. Our group remains interested in and committed to the welfare of the dog beyond the adoption process.
Finally, we strive to work with area shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless pets.
