My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Evie! This sweet-natured calico is four years old, fearless, and ready to claim her throne as queen of your household. Evie is a facial burn survivor with a year-long, successful recovery behind her—now fully healed, in terrific overall health, and hoping to be the center of your attention.

Evie brings major LA 2028 gymnast energy. Take your seat at the judge's table and get ready to award perfect 10s for her gold-medal-worthy splits and dramatic show-off somersaults. When she’s not training with Simone Biles, Evie's glued to her favorite mice-themed “Cat TV" shows on YouTube. She has a gold medal in cuddling but doesn’t compete in ‘petting’ for long periods of time.

She’s wonderfully easygoing-- never fussy about food flavors, has impeccable litter box habits, and has been a total pro at vet visits without a single complaint. Her past burn injury left her with one tear gland affected, so she may snore a little, and she has some permanent hair loss on one side of her face. But this hasn't slowed her Olympic dreams in the slightest and only adds to her unique charm.

Evie is a truly great cat with an inspiring story and resilient spirit. She’s confident, loyal, and fully deserving of the spotlight. She would be happy to be the only pet in your home and keeps herself entertained well. She would be a good match for someone looking for their one on one soul companion.

Del Gato Rescue is a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit cat rescue based in Los Angeles, CA. We are a handful of volunteers who work normal jobs by day and rescue cats on nights & weekends. We receive countless daily requests from the community for assistance with cats and kittens found outside in need of rescue.

We focus on rescuing friendly cats from the streets, getting them healthy and vetted in foster care, and finding their purrrfect forever home! We prevent hundreds of cats per year from entering our city shelters and being euthanized.

We also TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and vaccinate unadoptable/feral street cats, which we believe is the only solution to the root cause of the feline population crisis.

If you'd like to volunteer with us, fostering is a great way to help our cause, and it allows us space to save more kitties off the streets.
If you are unable to foster, we are also always looking for help with transportation to and from vet appointments.
Please send us an email at delgatorescue@gmail.com to be a part of our rescue community. Thanks for your support!

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit volunteer run cat rescue whose mission is to prevent shelter impounds. Los Angeles is filled with high kill municipal shelters, and the chances of any cat getting out alive are slim to none. Our volunteers work directly with the public to rescue abandoned, homeless, injured/sick community cats off the streets of Los Angeles, place them into foster homes, rehabilitate them & get them UTD on vetting, and finally place them into loving forever indoor homes.
