My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Kitty was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on September 24, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Kitty - yes, he knows his name is the most classic cat name ever, and he wears it with pride! This handsome gentleman is on the shy side and prefers to open up at his own pace. Think of him as the introvert of the feline world: not the life of the party, but definitely the one worth getting to know. Once you help him out of his shell with patience and tasty treats, he'll reveal his sweet and affectionate personality. Those who know him well say he loves pets and chin scratches - something he makes clear by purring and making biscuits. If you've got a quiet home, a patient heart and a knack for slow-burn relationships (the best kind, honestly), Kitty might just be your perfect match. Don't forget to bring a cat carrier for a safe ride home!

At SDHS:
Kitty has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He is now ready for his new home!

Shy/Fearful Cat: Kitty requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about him.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
