My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Drifter, a medium-sized Catahoula mix with a gentle heart and a story of resilience. Drifter was rescued from a hoarding situation with many other dogs, and while he can be shy with humans, he has learned to take comfort and confidence from his canine friends. He would thrive in a home with another dog (or a few!) to help guide him as he continues to grow.

Drifter loves going for walks and is good on leash, but he is still very timid around people. With just a little time and treats, Drifter comes up slowly for pets, gently asking permission to trust.

He would do best with a patient, understanding family who is willing to show him that life can be kind and that people can be trusted. With time, love, and gentle guidance, Drifter can blossom into a confident, happy companion.

This sweet boy is looking for a forever home where he can feel safe, loved, and supported - a home that will help him see the brighter side of life, one gentle step at a time.

Their adoption process

1.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

With hundreds of pets at the shelter and in foster, we recommend checking our website before visiting in person.

2.

Meet the Pet

We recommend bringing the whole family, including resident dogs, to meet the pet you're interested in adopting to ensure it's a good match.

3.

Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoption team will review the adoption contract with you. Adoption fees are $30 for dogs and $5 for cats unless during a special promo.

Additional adoption info

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis and must be made in person. As a high-intake shelter, most of the pets that come to us are strays, meaning we have limited background history on the pet, such as health, behavioral or living history. All adoptions include the animal's spay/neuter procedure, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and city license. All adoptions include a 7 day free trial with our training partner, GoodPup to help ease the transition!
