Meet Nyxie
A breathtaking long-haired calico with a soft coat and a story that deserves a gentle chapter.
Nyxie’s world shifted when her person left for college. She was lovingly taken in by a family friend, but their resident cat wasn’t welcoming, and after months of tension and attacks, Nyxie found herself packing her whiskers once again. Two moves in a short time can rattle even the bravest heart.
She is loving, but on her terms. Nyxie appreciates calm affection, quiet company, and the kind of respect that says, “I’ll let you come to me.” Because of her anxiety, we feel she would do best in a home with older kids who understand boundaries and gentle handling. Also due to her history, Nyxie needs a home with no other cats although it may change in the future as she lived with another cat and a dog in her initial home.
What Nyxie truly needs is patience. A home that gives her time to decompress, space to feel secure, and consistency so she can finally exhale and realize she’s safe. When that happens, she’s the kind of cat who bonds deeply, like a secret shared only with her chosen people.
