Meet Katerina, now known as Chloe
Chloe is a loving, people-oriented 9-month-old giant breed pup who is still learning what consistency feels like—and she’s trying her very best. Because her early life lacked stability, Chloe has developed some separation anxiety and prefers to stay close to her person (think loyal shadow status ). She’s currently working with her vet and foster family on this, has started medication, and is already making progress as her routine is adjusted to build independence and confidence.
Chloe absolutely adores people of all ages, sizes, and shapes. She greets life with enthusiasm and joy, which sometimes means she forgets just how big and strong she is. She can get excited and jump, so gentle reminders—especially around small humans—are part of her continued training.
With her foster siblings, Chloe loves to play! Chasing friends around the yard and engaging in a good game of tug-of-war are some of her favorite activities. She does, however, prefer to keep her high-value items (bones, treats, food) to herself, so continued work on sharing and respectful boundaries is important.
Chloe is crated at night and when home alone. While she’s not thrilled about going into her kennel, her new medication and routine are helping her settle more easily, and she’s showing steady improvement.
Chloe will thrive with an adopter who has patience and time for a very active large-breed puppy, understands separation anxiety and is committed to helping her learn that it’s okay to be alone, and is willing to continue training, structure, and confidence-building
She can be good for a first-time giant breed owner, as long as the adopter is dedicated, informed, and ready to put in the work that comes with a big puppy and big feelings.
A home with another dog is a big plus provided that fursibling is non-dominant, patient and tolerant, and a good role model as Chloe learns manners and sharing
A fenced yard is strongly recommended. Chloe enjoys outdoor play but has been known to hop fences if left alone, so a secure 6-foot fence with supervision is best—at least until she’s older and more settled.
With guidance, patience, and love, Chloe has all the makings of an incredible companion—devoted, affectionate, and full of personality.
