Meet Roo — a golden-eyed survivor ready to leap into her forever home
Roo’s story begins with heartbreak and hope. She was surrendered by an unhoused person who loved her enough to seek help before a dangerous ice storm, wanting a safer, better life for this puppy he had been gifted but could not shelter. When Roo arrived, she was trembling with fear after living a long stretch of nomadic street life.
Fast-forward just one week in a warm, stable home — and Roo is blossoming.
Estimated to be around 9 months old, Roo is a gentle, thoughtful girl with the most striking golden eyes and a soft, soulful presence. She’s already about 80% potty trained, sleeps in her crate through the night (with a little puppy-style protest at first), and is learning quickly. She already knows to sit before going through doors and for treats, showing how eager and capable she is.
Roo is dog-friendly and cat-friendly, enjoys playtime, walks, fetch, and zoomies, and then happily settles in for cozy movie nights. She can be shy and cautious with new people at first, but with slow introductions, she warms up and becomes affectionate and sweet.
Her ideal home would include:
A confident dog companion to help boost her confidence
Older, respectful kids (she’s still building experience with very young children)
A patient family who will continue her positive training and socialization
Roo is a resilient, loving soul who has already come so far. Now she just needs a forever family willing to help her take the next leap.
