My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

**Finley**
This sweet little boy arrived at my partner's rescue in California after someone found him in a box on the street. He was on his way to a shelter, but we took him in. Finley is probably a mix of Dachshund, Poodle, Chihuahua, Pomeranian, and Miniature Pinscher. Judging by his coloring and size, and based on what we know about similar mixes, he will likely weigh about 15 pounds as an adult, give or take a few pounds. He’ll be a small dog.
Finley now weighs 9 pounds @ 5.5 months and is a sweet, loving puppy. He’s still a bit shy after everything he’s been through, but he’s slowly becoming more confident and enjoys getting affection and company from the other dogs in his foster home. Here are some notes from his foster family:
Finley is very affectionate. He loves people, dogs, and even cats. He’s a cheerful, outgoing puppy who likes to stay close and cuddle. He enjoys playing with other dogs, people, stuffed toys, and bones. He settled in quickly and became part of our family right away. Finley is one of the kindest and most loving dogs we’ve met, and he’ll make a wonderful addition to any family. Finley has received one puppy vaccine and will require another one soon. We will make sure he receives that before he goes home.

Adopting a Dog requires a lot of work and is a commitment!
Adoption: If you think you have room in your home and heart for a new rescue dog, please go to our website: http://rompinpawsrescue.rescuegroups.org/

Healthy dogs: As a rescue saving dogs from starvation, Neglect, and Emaciation, RPR focuses on feeding each rescued animal the healthiest dog food made of Human Grade ingredients to help them recover from their stress and starvation. We share this with our adopters and encourage them to keep their new pets on the same foods for optimal health and long life.

OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR DOG ADOPTION:

1) These dogs are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.

2) We give preference to applicants with prior small breed knowledge/ experiences.

3) Secure visible fencing required.

4) You must have a plan in place to socialize your dog properly.

5) The FASTEST way to be considered for a dog is to fill out an application. If you write, it will delay your application and put you at the back of the line. The folks processing applications are volunteers that have their own dogs, families, and job responsibilities. We do our best to get applications done quickly.

We bring dogs from up from California. There are transportation costs for each dog. Then the dogs need to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, groomed, and some are placed with fosters, or set up at the adoption facility in Arlington. We do not receive any grants so we rely solely on adoption fees and donations to fund all of our rescue efforts. Finally, we take on "Special Needs" dogs with high vet costs and pay for their procedures with 'leftover' funds from adoption fees for healthier dogs.

Our passion is to bring people and pets together. Countless dogs are without homes and in need of assistance. These are dogs who would make wonderful and faithful companions if only they could connect with the right person or family. We have made it our mission to help them do this. At the same time, we hope to enrich the lives of those who adopt them.

We strive to match our dog's needs and personality to the preferences and requirements of each potential adopter. We believe this is a crucial component of the process and will help ensure a life-long relationship.

Our primary focus is on small mixed breeds, moms, and puppies of small and large breeds, although we do occasionally take in larger dogs. We work collaboratively with shelters, other rescue groups, and individuals, both locally and in California..

RPR was established in April 2015. We placed 400 dogs in our first year of operation in a small facility on acreage in Arlington, Washington.

We have a few local fosters and seek to increase our foster base in order to save more lives

Come Meet Our Pets...
We have a home-based operation on Acreage in Arlington and Our dogs are placed in foster homes around the greater Seattle/I-5 Corridor North to Arlington area where they receive socialization and training while they await adoption.
Our Adoption Process...
Since we have a small facility on gated acreage, we are unable to stay open to anyone who wishes to come visit. To facilitate successful adoptions we ask interested people and families to fill out an application for the dog or dogs they may be interested in. We screen the applications and then speak with the interested party by phone. If it looks like a good match can be made, we pre-approve the applicant and set an appointment for a meet and greet with the dogs at our facility or with the fosters who have the dogs in their care. We continue the interview in person and make sure the dog and family are a good fit.

Go meet their pets

Since many of our rescues reside with fosters, applicants will meet their potential new family members by appointment either at the Arlington facility or with the foster at an approved site that works for all participants. We look forward to meeting you.

More about this rescue

I began pet rescue at the young age of 11 when I attended Junior High school across the street from a high kill shelter that employed a decompression chamber to kill animals. I never stopped. I have worked with many other rescues and rescued on a small basis. Because of the awareness in Wa. state and the huge base of volunteers and animal lovers in this state, I have endeavored to do this full time in order to save many more lives
