My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SOPHIE, F/S, DSH, GREY
BORN-SEPT/06/2012
BONDED WITH SADIE

Sophie is a sweet grey beauty with a gentle heart, a curious mind, and an adorable way of letting you know when it’s playtime. She loves to snuggle once she’s comfortable and turns on a big, happy purr when she’s settled in close. Sophie and her sister both adore wand toys and catnip, and Sophie will even meow to tell you she’s ready to play—very cute and very hard to ignore. Sophie enjoys watching the world from the safety of a cozy windowsill, curious about what’s going on outside but perfectly content staying indoors.
Sophie is a sensitive, loving girl who blossoms in a calm environment and truly shines once trust is built. With her sweetness, playful spirit, and loving bond with her sister Sadie, Sophie is a wonderful companion waiting to feel safe and loved.
(Though not condoned by NLCR, both Sophie and Sadie were declawed by their former owner).

More about this rescue

Our main purpose is to save the lives of cats in danger of death, starvation and disease and to educate the public about cats in their homes and neighbourhoods. Some of our rescues are hand-picked from overcrowded local shelters. Others have been rescued from known “dump” sites. Still others may be trapped from lives outside by kind volunteers or families or may be surrendered by families who can no longer care for them for various reasons.
