Gunnar is a beautiful older gentleman (around 8 years old) who was found at a well-managed colony in Lansdale. He showed up one day looking very sick and in need of medical attention. His foster mom quickly trapped him and treated him with antibiotics, and he's now feeling much better. His wounds have healed and he is gaining weight. Unfortunately, due to the rough life he was living outdoors, he is FIV+. This will not stop him from living a normal, healthy life though. Gunnar can be a bit sassy with new people and sometimes will hiss when he's nervous, but he is truly a sweetheart. Once he trusts you, his hisses will turn into meows. His foster mom has not tested him with other cats due to his FIV+ status, but he may be okay after a slow introduction. He really loves the attention of humans and it's obvious he appreciates being indoors. The first step is to complete an Application. Start at the Adoption page on our website - https://www.straycatblues.org/adoption-process

Approve Application
You will be assigned an Adoption Representative who will review your application and check your vet and personal references.
3.
Meet the Pet
Once approved, we will set up a meet and greet for you with the cat(s) you are interested in.
4.
Sign Adoption Contract
Your Adoption Representative will go over paperwork with you. You will sign and then pay the Adoption Fee.
5.
Take the Pet Home
This is the best part! Take your new cat home!
Additional adoption info
During review of the application if you rent your home, we confirm with your landlord that you are allowed to have the cat per your lease.
We also consider if a particular cat is a good fit for your home. Certain cats will do better in homes without small children, or without other cats. Other cats may need to be adopted with a cat that they are bonded with. So we make sure that the cat and the home are a good match before completing an adoption.
Some of our fosters allow trial adoptions, where you would have 2-3 weeks to make sure that the cat being adopted was accepted by the other pets in your home. If you are interested in this, please ask your Adoption Representative.
All cats adopted from Stray Cat Blues have been screened for feline leukemia and FIV, inoculated, sterilized and wormed when they first come to us. Additional vet work is completed for those cats that require additional care. Healthy, adoptable cats and kittens are then housed through our network of foster homes until they are adopted.
You are also welcome to come visit cats at our PetSmart Collegeville and PetSmart North Wales/Montgomeryville locations (see times for adoption showings). If you see a cat there that you like, you can complete an adoption application there in person.

• $150 - Kittens up to one year of age
• $100 - For cats over one year and up to 7 years of age
• $70 - For cats 7 years of age and over.
All fees are subject to Pennsylvania's 6% sales tax and a minimum of $5 or 5% service fee.
Fees for cats with special needs will be determined based upon circumstances and may result in a fee reduction.
