Sparrow is a handsome, active boy looking for a home ready to match his drive and intelligence. Ideally, he’d love a family with German Shepherd experience or adopters who have done thorough research on the breed and are prepared for the mental and physical needs that come with it.
Sparrow is currently working on his overall manners and is very treat-motivated and eager to learn. He’s a great candidate for continued training using qualified, science-based training techniques, and adopters should be open to enrolling him in classes or working with a professional trainer.
He has participated in playgroup at the shelter and has done well with both male and female dogs. Sparrow has also had some exposure to cats and kittens and has shown interest while remaining respectful of their space, though slow, thoughtful introductions are always recommended.
At times, Sparrow can be a little mouthy, but he is easily redirected and continues to improve with guidance and structure. Because of this, we believe he would do best in a home with older children who can understand appropriate interactions and boundaries.
