Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Barney ??—a 7-year-old neutered male Rottweiler mix with the heart of a teddy bear and the lifestyle goals of someone who enjoys snacks and naps.
Barney came to the shelter after being surrendered due to his wandering tendencies, so he’ll need a secure yard to keep his adventures safely contained. The good news? His former owners reported that he was friendly with both people and other dogs, which fits his easygoing, social nature.
Barney knows his manners—he can sit on cue and takes treats very gently, like he’s afraid of hurting their feelings. He’s not here for toys or balls (fetch is overrated anyway), but he is very interested in you. His favorite place to be is right by his person, preferably in a nice shady spot where the vibes are calm and the company is good.
This handsome guy could stand to lose a few pounds and is hoping for an adopter who’s up for daily walks and a little wellness journey together. The good news? His leash walking improves the longer he’s out, and despite his age, Barney still has plenty of spring in his step.
Friendly, loyal, and low-key, Barney doesn’t need constant entertainment—just a person to hang out with, stroll beside, and keep him company in the shade. If you’re looking for a sweet, steady companion with a soft heart and a gentle soul, Barney’s your guy.
