Everett is an incredibly sweet, snuggly boy who would much rather be bundled up on a cozy couch with his person than out in cold weather. He’s a true comfort-lover and happiest when warmth, softness, and human companionship are involved.
Everett would do well as a solo pup or with a calm, low-energy dog. He coexisted well with a 60-lb, 2-year-old dog out on a snowy host weekend, though constant puppy play and high energy sometimes tested his patience. He did okay with cats—mostly curious and interested, with some non-aggressive chasing—so slow introductions and supervision are recommended.
He slept through the night in his crate but isn’t a big fan of daytime crating while people are home, especially for shorter periods. Everett seems to be fully potty trained when kept on a routine and knows to go outside for potty business. While he doesn’t yet seem familiar with basic cues like sit, stay, or come, he began learning his name within 24 hours, suggesting he’s bright and very trainable with consistency and positive reinforcement.
Everett isn’t much of a barker and keeps things pretty quiet. He’s happy with simple, basic dog food and isn’t particularly motivated by fancy treats. All in all, Everett is a gentle, affectionate companion who will thrive in a calm, loving home that appreciates a cuddly couch buddy and is excited to help him continue learning at his own pace.

All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccines, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member.
If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please complete an Adoption Application at our website: savinggracenc.org
Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption.
Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.

More about this rescue
Located in central North Carolina and officially established in 2004, Saving Grace has placed over 15,000 dogs into homes since its inception. These dogs were from rural animal control facilities with little resources and who would otherwise not had the opportunity to receive necessary veterinary care and a chance at adoption. While we have grown significantly over the years and have been successful growing our numbers we still see many great dogs miss the opportunity of adoption.
We have a large variety of dogs varying in breed, size, shape, age and needs and would love to work with you to find you a great dog companion while providing a dog in need with a loving home. Our dogs are chosen based on temperament and socialization. We get some of the most charming, unique mix breeds as well as some striking purebreds. Our dogs come from rural, underserved areas and while they may have little experience as an indoor family member, they have the temperament and personality that is sure to bring much love and appreciation to their new home. Most have started their crate training while in our program. Veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test, vaccinations, monthly preventatives are provided prior to each adoption. If you would like more information about adopting one of our dogs, please email savinggrace@savinggracenc.org
