My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scout is a rescue from a shelter that re-homes dogs who previously lived on the streets in Mexico. She is sweet to those she knows well, and loves to sunbathe, nap, play with toys, and curl up by your feet. While she does enjoy being around people she is familiar with, she is also fiercely independent and enjoys her space. Scout is extremely skittish and is very reactive. She doesn't handle new people coming over well, and will react if she feels that there is a threat present. Once she has had time to adjust to the new individual and realizes they are not a threat, she is calm and first in line for pets. She has a history of resource guarding when it comes to toys and food. Scout would do best as the only dog in the household and with plenty of space to run or be active. She has never been around children/young kids, nor has she ever bitten anyone.

Scout would do best in a home with an owner that has experience with aggressive/reactive behavior in dogs. She is currently on Prozac.
