She waited under a park sign for a family that never came back. Now she’s waiting for the one who will never leave. Meet Dabby.
From the Foster Family:
Dabby’s story begins with heartbreak, but it’s quickly becoming one filled with hope. She and her sister were found abandoned under a sign along the Natchez Trace Parkway, waiting for a family who never came back. Thankfully, someone kind found them and brought them to safety. Her sister was adopted about a month ago, and now it’s Dabby’s turn to find the forever home she deserves.
Dabby had a non-contagious form of mange, which has since been fully treated and cured. She may always have a couple of small spots where her fur doesn’t grow back, but they are just tiny reminders of how far she has come. She is a wonderfully easygoing girl with the perfect balance of playful moments and peaceful naps. She might be a little shy for the first minute or two, but once she knows you’re safe, she absolutely melts into cuddles on the couch or bed.
She has done an excellent job with potty training, even in the brutal cold, and sleeps in her kennel at night without any issues. During the day, she chooses to go into her kennel on her own when she wants quiet time, showing how comfortable and secure she feels. At about seven months old and 36 pounds, she is likely to stay a medium-sized dog and would make a lovely family companion. Dabby is gentle, affectionate, and ready to give her whole heart to the right family.
Please fill out an application and come meet this sweetheart. She will melt right into your arms.
About Me:
My sister and I were abandoned in a park in Alabama. We waited under a big park sign, thinking our family would come back for us, but they never did. Someone kind found us and brought us to rescue, and that’s where my life started to change. I had a little case of mange, but it was the non-contagious kind and it’s all gone now. My sister didn’t have it at all and she got adopted about a month ago, so now it’s finally my turn.
I’m an easygoing girl who loves to cuddle and enjoys playing with other dogs. I might need a minute or two to say hello, but once I do, I’m all in for the love. I have a kennel that I can go into anytime I want. It’s my safe place, and I sleep in it at night with no accidents at all. I’m told that once it warms up, we’ll go on walks, and I would really love that. I’d love even more to have a family to take me on adventures.
My trip from Alabama to Minnesota has already been a big adventure, and I can’t wait to see what comes next. I’m ready to give all my love to a family who will never leave me behind again. I can’t wait to meet you.
With all my love,
Dabby
