My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Gizmo is a tiny survivor with a big heart. He is one of a litter of 11 puppies who were heartbreakingly abandoned in a box at a veterinary office in San Bernardino at only about a week old. The litter was taken to the San Bernardino City Shelter and then split among several rescues due to the intensive around-the-clock care newborn puppies require. We took in Gizmo and his brother Stripe, and they have been thriving ever since.

When Gizmo first arrived, he was the smaller of the two brothers, but he has caught up quickly and is growing stronger every day. He is incredibly sweet and gentle, and he is just starting to discover the world. He has begun playing with Stripe and is showing his curious, affectionate personality.

Gizmo is still very young and will grow into a medium to large dog. His exact breed is unknown, but guesses include Lab mix and German Shepherd mix. Like all puppies, he will need an adopter committed to training, socialization, and all the joys and responsibilities of raising a puppy.

Puppies require a significant time commitment and patience. Gizmo and Stripe are still babies and will need guidance as they grow. This includes house training, crate training, basic obedience training, socialization, and learning appropriate chewing and play behavior. They will go through teething, may have accidents, and will need consistent structure, positive reinforcement, and supervision.

We are now accepting applications for Gizmo and Stripe, with the goal of placing them in their forever homes once they are fully weaned (around 6 weeks of age) so they can begin bonding with their families. Adopters will be required to bring the puppies to our veterinarian for vaccinations and neuter once they are age appropriate.

If you are looking for a sweet, resilient puppy to grow up with your family, Gizmo may be your perfect match.

More about this rescue

Cause for SB Paws is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization dedicated to helping lost, abandoned, abused and homeless dogs from the streets and our city and county shelters in the San Bernardino area. Our goal is to rehome our rescued babies into pet-loving communities that will cherish these formerly forgotten souls.

We are a dedicated team of San Bernardino residents who grew frustrated with the substandard treatment of animals in our community and shelters. We foster all of the dogs we rescue so they can de-stress from their time on the streets or in the shelter system and get them used to the love and trust of being an inside companion animal living in a loving home. We also fully vet our dogs and treat any known issues, including dental, hernia repair, etc.
