My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I’m a SUN cat because I like to be near you, not necessarily on you. I think that’s okay! Not everyone is a lap cat… even if it seems like that’s what everyone is looking for.

Right now, I’m not in a home. I’m boarding at a veterinary office because there’s a shortage of foster homes — and because I tend to be the last one chosen. I’m “not affectionate enough”… yet. The truth is, I just need time, patience, and acceptance. Show me that I’m safe, and let’s see if I decide you’re someone I can trust enough to snuggle with one day.

For now? LOL — I will absolutely come running for food.

I was rescued from the streets of Brooklyn after kind people noticed I was being neglected and that my kittens were being sold for cash. I’ve had multiple litters, and each time my babies were taken from me. I haven’t always been treated with kindness, so it’s only natural that I’m a little wary.

But I’m ready — truly ready — to find my forever family. And even a loving foster home would mean the world to me right now. I’m curious, too… curious to see how much I might blossom in a calm, caring home where I’m finally allowed to just be me.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

You will be asked to fill out an adoption application and generally a telephone interview will follow. Next, a home visit will be performed to help "ready" your home for the new cat(s).

Supposedly Unadoptable Cats are special and we require adopters for this particular group of cats to be experienced cat people.

While we hope that the commitment you make will be life long, all cats adopted out through this initiative will be returnable for the life of the cat.

Please visit our website for details about our adoption process: www.ConnersCauseForCats.org

More about this rescue

We believe that every cat deserves to be cared for whether they play with you, curl up in your lap, or prefer to hang out by themselves or with other feline companions.

Please visit our website for additional information at www.ConnersCauseForCats.org.

Conner's Cause is sponsored by Give Me Shelter Project, Inc. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit animal rescue, education and advocacy organization. You can learn more about Give Me Shelter Project by visiting our website: www.GiveMeShelterProject.org.

Conner’s Cause is an initiative that Give Me Shelter Project has launched to try to find loving forever homes for the Supposedly Unadoptable Cats that currently reside in animal shelters and with rescue groups.

Our organization has generally defined "supposedly unadoptable cats" as those who range in temperament from semi-friendly to semi-feral. For the purposes of this initiative, we have broadened our definition of “supposedly unadoptable cats” to include other categories of cats that are difficult to place in adoptive homes. These include: seniors, handicapped, FIV+, FeLV+, cats with treatable and untreatable illnesses.

We invite you to consider adopting a "Supposedly Unadoptable Cat". Please join “Conner’s Cause” and BRING HOME THE MAGIC!
