My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Milo | Tag #2076 | Pit mix | 3 yr old | Neutered male

Meet Milo, this handsome boy was surrendered by his owner because he was moving and couldn’t take him with him. When out for his walks you could tell Milo was still looking for his owner in hopes he would see him again. He is a really sweet dog and is really coming out of his shell with staff and volunteers. Milo knows basic commands and is smart and treat motivated so training should be a breeze. He is looking for a patient owner willing to give him time to decompress and bond with his new family. He is still being tested with other dogs. Come down and ask to meet him!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our adoption procedures have changed.

Our new procedures are as follows:

First view our animals on our facebook page under photos, on Petfinder.com or Adopt-A-Pet.com. If you are interested in any of our animals, email us at animalshelter@islipny.gov and we will send you an application to complete. When you email the application back to us, please list the dog/dogs name and tag number.

Once the application is complete and we have all the proper paperwork, we will contact you to make an appointment to come see the animal. Appointments will be spread out so we don't have two families here at once. All introductions and meet-and-greets will be done outside.

We thank everyone for your patience, understanding, and support through this difficult time. Everyone stay safe and healthy!
....
In order to adopt an animal from us you must first meet the animal in person. Once that goes well, you will be required to fill out the application including personal information, current pet information, and vet information. We require you to do a "meet and greet" if you have other dogs, to ensure all dogs get along. Once approved, you can come pick up your pet!
Adoption Fees:
Cats - $100
Dogs - $131
Fees include the cost of spay or neuter surgery, micro-chip and vaccines.

Go meet their pets
