Update, 1/27/26:
12/15/25: Foster mom: Meet Hip! One of my current foster puppies from Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. Hip! He appears to be a 6 to 7 month old XL bully puppy. Terrified of life but steadily coming out of his shell. He came with a pretty concerning limp so I didn't want to post about him until we knew what was going on. Turns out this 37 lb chonk (no he's not overweight!) has Panosteitis, long bone pain which can be a common problem in large breed pups. The good news is that he should grow out of it with proper nutrition, continued rest and pain meds. It can have flare ups but I'll know what the cause is now.
(When their family was not able to find homes, three babies were signed over to the animal control facility this week. We are happy they were able to go into a foster home immediately)
PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at FOACinfo@gmail.com. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *Unaltered babies under the age of six months can be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, and counties touching Campbell County. *Unaltered adult pets six months or older will need to be sterilized before they can be adopted outside our local area of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.
