My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet WILLA – Our Newest Rescue Girl

Willa is being fostered in East Oshawa area (Hampton).

Our newest rescue addition has arrived, and this beautiful girl is Willa. Willa is a 7-year-old Cockapoo, weighing approximately 25 lbs, who came to us as a loving owner surrender. She was well cared for, but the addition of toddlers in the home became overwhelming for her, causing anxiety around young children.

Willa is spayed, and she will be seeing our vet shortly to update her vaccines and be microchipped.

Willa’s Personality:
Willa is a sweet, gentle girl who is friendly with her humans. While she coexists around other dogs, she doesn’t seek their company and prefers the calm presence of people. She’s still adjusting to her new environment, so she isn’t a cuddle bug just yet—but she enjoys being near her people and soaking in the calm.

Energy level: Low to medium
Temperament: Calm, gentle, people-oriented
Best as: The only dog in the home

Ideal Home for Willa
We believe Willa would thrive in:

•A quiet home
•Someone who is home most of the time
•No young children (teenagers are fine)
•A home with a secure, fenced yard (she truly loves being outside—even in the snow!)
•Not condo-suited – she does bark at noises

Daily Life with Willa
•Walks well on a leash and loves her walks
•Enjoys playing with her toys

House trained
•Sleeps through the night on her favourite bed and blanket
•Eats well (and loves treats!), though she tends to graze throughout the day
•Non-destructive and can roam freely in the home
•Not crate trained and does not like confinement
•Will require grooming a few times per year

Willa is a calm, happy, and lovely girl who deserves a safe, loving, peaceful forever home where she can truly relax and be herself. If you believe Willa would be a perfect addition to your family, apply for her today. She so deserves a quiet, loving home where she can feel secure and cherished.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to rescue and rehome unwanted, abandoned, abused and unloved pets that find themselves alone and frightened in shelters. These animals give unconditional love and should receive the same love back. Unfortunately there is a need and while ever there is a need we will be there to help. Our long term goal is to build towards the opening of our own shelter and be able to help with behavioral issues, special needs, and to offer a haven to less adoptable pets. We are always very thankful for any pet related donations to assist the animals in our care
