Koda was recently brought to the shelter when his family could no longer care for him, and now he’s looking for a new place to call home. He would love an experienced, dog-savvy family, ideally one familiar with large breeds or, even better, German Shepherds, who understands the needs of big, intelligent dogs.
Koda is a very large and strong boy and would do best in a home setting with a securely fenced yard where he can safely stretch his legs. He can be vocal on leash towards other dogs, and because of his strength, adopters should be comfortable handling a powerful dog and continuing his leash training.
At home, Koda has a great balance of energy, he enjoys going for walks and visiting the park, but he’s also very happy to relax and hang out with his people. His previous family reports that he is fully potty trained.
Koda has lived with cats and done well sharing space with them. While he has not lived with other dogs in the home, he has shared space with dogs outside of it. As always, slow and thoughtful introductions are recommended.
Koda can feel a little nervous at the vet, so a clinic that prioritizes fear-free handling would be ideal to help him feel more comfortable and supported.
If you’re looking for a loyal, big-hearted companion and have the experience to help him thrive, Koda could be a wonderful addition to your family. Come meet him and see if he’s the one for you!
