Lester is a gentle soul who likes to take life at his own pace. He can be a little nervous when meeting new people, preferring to observe and settle in on his own terms, but with patience and snacks his true personality begins to shine. In foster care, Lester has been steadily gaining confidence. He first opened up to the children in the foster home (treats definitely helped!), and now he’s blossomed into a sweet and social companion. He’s started greeting his people with little meows and coming out of hiding on his own. Now he will happily ask for affection. Lester adores head scratches and enjoys being brushed from nose to tail (he will roll over in pure happiness from this). He’s also discovered the joy of playtime and has a fondness for a little toy mouse.
Lester would thrive in a calm, patient home where he has a quiet space to retreat to when he needs a break. For someone willing to let him set the pace, Lester rewards that trust with affection and love. If you have room in your heart for a shy guy who just needs time to feel safe, Lester might be your perfect match!
**This cat has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). They’ll need to join a home with other FIV-positive cats or be your one-and-only feline friend. With proper care, many cats with FIV live long, happy, and healthy lives, full of love, play, and companionship**
***NOTE*** Please remember that animals are coming back from foster care to the centres for their meet and greets. They will be experiencing a new environment and meeting new people, which means they may not exhibit the same behaviours they did in their foster videos or while in foster care.
If you are viewing this animal through 24Petconnect by PetPlace or Adopt-a-pet, please visit our website https://kwsphumane.ca/adopt/process to submit an application. Any applications submitted outside of www.kwsphumane.ca may not be received.

Come into the Centre and if you see a pet you like, you are able to do a "Meet and Greet" with that pet. Spend some time in alone with the pet or take a dog out for a short walk. If you are still interested in adopting the pet you can meet with one of our Adoption Counsellors who will have you fill out and application and will ask you some questions about the environment in which you live. If you seem like a wonderful match and your envirnoment meets the needs of the pet then your application should be approved!
