Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Esmeralda's Story
FOSTERED IN TEXAS.
Esmeralda is a busy and curious dog. She wakes up HAPPY and READY for the day. No coffee needed! This sweet girl is a bundle of positive energy.
She's very sweet, playful, & loves attention. She's strong on the leash so will need consistent leash work after all she is only 1 year old. Esmeralda is very responsive to correction and is eager to please. She will sit on command if you offer a treat.
This 60 lb female gets along with everyone! She is in playgroups with big and small dogs, boys and girls of various temperaments. Due to her energy and puppy play - some dogs find her annoying. Esmeralda's feelings are not hurt and she moves on to find new friends. She is curious about everything and not fearful. Esmeralda is unbothered by thunderstorms, she will roll in the mud and continue dancing in the rain.
Crate trained in her foster home, she loves her blankets and toys. She will drag a blanket around and loves cuddles and petting. Esmerelda likes kids and
She has been spayed, microchipped by rescue and testing negative for
heartworms - on prevention and up to date on vaccines.
FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee ($550.00) includes transport options to PNW (WA, UT, ID), Midwest (MN, WI, MI, OH, IL, IN) or select New England States (NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT) by pet transport partners.
History: Esmeralda came to rescue from Lockhart Animal Control as a very friendly "stray" in central Texas. She was a staff favorite and after being fostered by a local volunteer, she was spayed and brought to Caffeinated Canine Rescue for adoption planning.
Esmeralda was aged by the Vet at 11 months old in January 2026 and labeled as a Doberman Pincher/Mixed Breed. She has a short double black coat with tan markings, docked tail and short floppy ears. She has a strong build.
*She has not been fostered or tested with cats.
