If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Barnacle is a beautiful, loving Dutch Shepherd I adopted from the Denver Animal shelter. He's 3 years old and healthy. He loves to cuddle, get pets, receive treats, and keep people company. He needs a home that will give him space to roam when he needs it, but people he can go to when he needs some socialization. He can be incredibly calm and relaxed when he's at home, just laying next to his people happily. He loves to play with his toys (especially squeeky ones), and when we go for walks his favorite thing to do is go to a nearby park and run around (One of the pictures I attached shows him playing in fresh snow!) If he needs something, he will communicate that to you; for example, if he needs to go outside a little early, he will lead you to the door and whimper to say "Hey! I need to go!"
He has not been living with any other animals so I cannot speak to how he behaves with other dogs, cats, or other animals. He also has not been around children. He gets excited when he sees dogs.
