Best Match:
Meet handsome boy Austin!
It took some time for Austin to adjust to his foster home, so his adopter should be patient and understanding. He may always be wary of strangers and visitors in the home. Once he feels comfortable with you, he can be affectionate, engaging, and absolutely worth the wait. He can still startle easily and may hide briefly if he’s nervous, especially around new people, but when he knows you, he’ll recover quickly and come right back out. Austin can occasionally become mildly overstimulated when being petted, but he gives very clear signals once he needs a break. He’s still learning to feel comfortable being touched from different positions (if you’re sitting, kneeling, standing, etc.) and with hands coming at him from different angles. He continues to make great progress!
Once settled in and you know his boundaries, Austin likes to start his day sitting with you, chirping and headbutting while you pet him before a quick morning play session. He’s a huge fan of the cat dancer toy, or wand toys with a mouse or bird on the end. He typically engages in play quickly and easily. If you’re busy, he’ll quickly amuse himself and find something else to play with. He spends most of the day lounging around and keeping watch over the neighborhood from the window. He enjoys spending time near you if you’re at home, but in a calm and not needy or disruptive way.
Generally, he’s a very easygoing cat, especially after a few play sessions. In his current foster home, he’s interested in playing with the resident cats! Because he is young too, we think he needs a home with another cat matching his energy/playfulness.
Austin is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He is positive for FIV but negative for FELV. If you are interested in setting up a meeting or have more questions, please complete our Adoption Inquiry form: form.jotform.com/cattownoak/adoption-inquiries
