A Little Bit About Me

Out of this world Milky Way was found with her kittens out in the cold. They were brought here at night and fortunately all of them survived and were saved. Her kittens have been adopted so now it's her time to find her forever home. Milky Way and her kittens went to foster. And here's what her foster family tells us about her: Milky Way is an incredibly sweet cat. She loves pets, especially ear and chin scritches. She prefers to be near you but not on your lap or snuggling up to you. She's a quiet cat and would do best in a calmer home. But you will hear her chirp at birds and squirrels in the window. She loves to play, either with toys or chasing her own tail. Her favorite toy (make sure to ask us for it) is a cute little Tiffany bag with a large fabric mouse inside. She loves to pull the mouse out and then play with it. It's really cute to watch her. We did discover that a covered litter box is best for her. She's a cat that really likes to cover up and sometimes the litter might go flying! Milky Way was a wonderful foster and in the right home she'll blossom for her new family like she did for us. (We recommend an adult only home or one with calm older children. Little ones would be too much for her and may make her hide.

More about this rescue

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
