*A quiet soul learning to trust
-This gentle boy has been slowly and steadily coming out of his shell, and watching his progress has been incredibly heartwarming 💙 When he first arrived, he clearly wanted to be near people but wasn’t quite sure how. He would stay close by, even army-crawling over just to be near, though still keeping a little distance. He was very sensitive about head handling, often lowering his head and freezing in place, and he wasn’t interested in treats or toys at that time. He showed some mild trembling, clearly overwhelmed but never reactive.
-With time and consistency, he’s made beautiful progress. Just a couple of days later, the trembling was gone, and he began pawing gently for more pets. He relaxed enough to lie down, started accepting treats, and showed that he truly wants affection — he just needs to feel safe first.
-Now, he continues to improve each day. He seeks out attention, chooses to sit close to his people, and carries himself with a quiet, stoic, “Eeyore-like” demeanor that’s incredibly endearing. He may pull a bit on walks but has gained confidence, holding his head higher and engaging more with his surroundings. He’s even started to show brief moments of playfulness, especially when a squeaky toy catches his interest — though it can still make him a little unsure.
-He’s a big soft-hearted baby who needs a patient, understanding home that will let him move at his own pace. Give him time, gentle handling, and reassurance, and you’ll earn the trust and love of a truly special soul
-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros

•Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in.
•There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption.
•To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering.
**And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.**
