My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maddie is a roughly 35-40lb beautiful brindle 1 year old, possibly lab/shepherd mix, with the sweetest personality. She currently lives in a foster home with 3 dogs smaller than her and does great with them. She loves kids, loves people and ignores cats thus far. Maddie was a recent intake from Kentucky where she was living outside. She's absolutely loving the warmth of a foster home and can't wait to find her forever home!

All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative (age 7 months and older) and microchipped. We do not ship or transport. A dog's adoption donation is $200. There is a $5 fee for credit/debit cards.

All of our dogs, cats, rabbits & ferrets are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Small animals are usually not altered. We have adoption applications, a short interview process, and an adoption fee for each animal. All animals (except rabbits & small animals) are up to date on all shots.

We hold adoption events on Saturdays at Petsmart in Mishawaka from 11-3. We also hold other events throughout the year. Company Overview
Heartland Small Animal Rescue Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving South Bend, IN and surrounding towns by taking in homeless pets and adopting them out into loving homes. We also work closely with local shelters to reduce euthanasia rates by pulling animals and putting them in our program.
