Ruff Dog Rescue FIRST requires a submitted adoption application; Vet reference required. We will then schedule a meet and greet with the requested pet. A home visit will be conducted prior to finalizing an adoption.

All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, heartworm tested, and treated if necessary.

Ruff Dog Rescue, RDR, INC is a NO KILL, non-profit, 501(c)3 all-breed charity pet rescue located in Milton, Georgia.

Through the collaborated efforts of our dedicated volunteers, we rescue dogs from Georgia's High/Quick KILL shelters or from dire situations and place them into temporary foster homes until find suitable forever home. Our foster families nurture, rehabilitate, socialize and train the rescued pet to facilitate their development while they await adoption.

RDR strives to create awareness to overwhelming homeless pet population. We do our part helping reduce the number of unwanted pets by spaying and neutering all our rescues, and encourage the public to ADOPT NOT SHOP! Our group is founded on the principle that no animal should die unwanted or unloved.

We need your HELP.

FOSTER HOMES NEEDED. With the huge numbers of unwanted dogs in the South, the dogs depend on all of us to save them. You can make a difference in RDR's mission in many ways. We are always looking to add to our network of compassionate foster families. We accept fosters living in the Atlanta metro and north Georgia areas. Please visit our website and fill out a Foster Application at if you’re interested and we’ll be in touch! Fostering is FREE, rescue pays for all food, supplies and medical, all we need is your loving home for a handful of weeks.

We also need volunteers in a number of capacities, including administrative support staff, marketing and advertising, accounting, transport, helping at adoption events, walking/running dogs, and even "liking" and sharing our Ruff Dog Rescue GA Facebook page. RDR INC (Ruff Dog Rescue GA & Ruff Dog Rescue NE) is a 501(c)3 sanctioned charity and will provide tax qualifying receipt of donation upon request.

We are in persistent need of the following supplies:

- New or lightly used blankets, towels, pet toys, medium/large kennels, exercise pens, leashes, collars (small puppy size to medium adult size), walking harnesses (Easy Walk Harnesses), and outdoor kennel runs;

- Dog food (protein first ingredient), treats and rawhides; and

- Puppy Potty/Training Pads

Donations may be dropped off at either adoption events or at our Milton, GA facility, Monday – Friday, 1:00-4:00pm. Please text 770-843-3334 to schedule a drop-off or if a pickup is needed for larger items.

It's all about the rescues at RDR; all funds received go directly to helping a dog/cat in need. No administrative fees or salaries are deducted or paid.
