My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Ted. I was hiding under a car when I was rescued from the street. I came to SBACC in pretty awful shape. I had missing patches of fur, an ear infection, and itched all over.  It looked like I had mange, but turns out it is allergies, and no one has discovered exactly what I’m allergic to.  My ears looked terrible, and it turns out I had skin cancer, which isn’t uncommon in cats with white ears.  I had to have surgery to have part of my ears removed.  I think it makes me look kind of cute.  I’m also FIV+, which is the least of my problems.  Despite what many people think, cats with FIV can live long, healthy lives, and it’s not contagious. It can’t be transmitted from cat to cat by sharing food, water, or litter boxes.  It took me several months to get in shape and ready for a forever home.  I’m on a special diet and some medicine for my allergies, but my fur is now looking tiptop, and my ears are all healed from my surgery.  I’m a friendly boy who enjoys attention and pets.  I’ve been rooming with another cat here at SBACC, and we’re not buddies, but we get along Ok.  I hope to find a forever home as your one and only cat, or maybe with one other mellow cat.
