Meet Astra: A Loyal Heart Waiting for Her Forever Home
Every once in a while, a dog comes along who makes you believe in second chances. Astra is one of those dogs.
At almost 7 years old, Astra has lived enough life to know what really matters: love, connection, and someone to throw the ball... again and again. This stunning German Shepherd/Husky mix needs to be the only dog in the home. Astra carries the grace of her breeds and the warmth of a heart that just wants to belong. Weighing in at 75 lbs, she's big enough to wrap her paws around you — and gentle enough to win over your heart without even trying.
Astra is everything you'd hope for in a companion. She’s housebroken, crate trained, and knows all the basics: “sit,” “stay,” “paw,” “down,” and “come.” But beyond her obedience is her spirit — a joyful, playful soul who lights up when a ball is in sight. Her favorite game? Fetch.
She adores people, good with kids and has been cat-tested. Astra was politely indifferent with cats, which in our book, is a win. Astra thrives when she’s part of the action, not just a dog in the background. Whether it's a walk in the park, playtime in the yard, or curling up after a long day — she just wants to be with you. Astra will do best as an only dog or in a home.
Astra is past the unpredictable puppy stage, but she still has a zest for life and plenty of playful years ahead. She’s spayed, up to date on vaccines, and on heartworm and flea prevention.
If you’re an active individual or family looking for a loyal, loving companion who will love you with her whole heart, Astra might just be the piece you’ve been missing. Love isn’t just found — it’s rescued.
Astra is waiting. Will you be her forever?
