3.5 Months Old (DOB 10/06/2026)
19lbs on 01/29/26
Beagle / Cattle Dog Mix (Best Guess)
Estimated adult weight: ~40–50 lbs
Al is an adorable, tri-colored puppy with soulful eyes, the sweetest little expression, and a heart full of resilience. This boy has already come so far in such a short time.
Al and his littermates came from an extremely difficult situation — a home without basic utilities for either the people or the dogs. When they first arrived in rescue, the puppies were underweight and dehydrated. Thanks to good nutrition, safety, and lots of care, Al is now thriving and showing everyone exactly what a happy, healthy puppy is meant to be.
In his foster home, Al is doing wonderfully:
Friendly and social with other dogs
Curious and growing confident as he settles in
Playful, sweet, and ready to learn
With his Beagle/Cattle Dog–type mix, Al may grow into a smart, active companion who will enjoy playtime, walks, and having a family to share life with. He’s still a baby, so he’ll benefit from continued puppy training, routine, and all the love that comes with raising a young dog.
Al is ready for a fresh start and a forever home that will keep helping him flourish.
Al's breed mix is a best guess based on appearance; his exact breed makeup is unknown.
All of our dogs/pups are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines.
Adoption fee for all dogs/pups: $225.
Our dogs are in foster homes across the KC metro. We do not have a shelter facility.

More about this rescue
The Heart of America Humane Society is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization helping to place shelter and foster animals into permanent homes in and around the greater Kansas City metro area.
Our goal is to save and improve the lives of Kansas City's homeless companion animals by promoting responsible pet ownership. The Heart of America Humane Society (HAHS) partners with the Lee's Summit Animal Shelter (Lee's Summit MO) and KCK Animal Services (Kansas City KS) to increase pet adoptions into responsible, permanent homes.
Background
Our organization does not have a permanent facility or paid staff, so many of our adoptions take place at PetSmart stores and occasionally through other event venues. Some events raise awareness and bring in donations for our animal support efforts, while others help acknowledge and show appreciation for our own volunteers (who perform all duties outside of their regular jobs). Visit our website to learn more about us at heartofamericahs.org.
