Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Vega! This handsome guy is very smart and will amaze you will all his tricks like sit, paw, other paw, and down. He is extremely food motivated, which makes him eager to learn more! Vega is a very energetic dog and would strive in an active home with a structure routine. He did well in play group with another dog as well as a positive dog introduction with another male dog. He will likely be good with other dogs provided there is a slow and gradual introduction. Vega tends to be very vocal as he gets startled by new people. Due to being generally vocal dog, Vega would prefer to live in a low traffic and quiet neighborhood. If you're interested in meeting Vega, come on down to Anti-Cruelty today! Vega will be happily waiting to see you!

More about this shelter
The South Suburban Humane Society is a 501(c )(3) organization that was started in 1970, serving the animal welfare needs of the entire south suburbs of Chicago. In the beginning, we handled all rescues, adoptions and provided foster care out of private homes. Since November 1973, our organization has been operating a 10,000 square foot open-door animal shelter in Chicago Heights, Illinois.
For over fifty years, our organization has helped tens of thousands of animals. We offer extensive outreach programs including humane education, and community outreach events. We also operate a resale shop located in Steger, Illinois that promotes our organization, our animals and provide much needed income to support our humane work.
The Mission of the South Suburban Humane Society is to protect and promote the well being of pets and their people in our community and beyond.
