Fortuna is a beautiful longhaired gray tabby, about four years old, with a soft coat, gentle eyes, and an even gentler heart. She’s a truly sweet and affectionate girl who enjoys attention and has a calm, comforting presence that makes it easy to fall in love with her.
She came to New Leash needing extra care and kindness, arriving with Eosinophilic Keratoconjunctivitis in both eyes. Thanks to generous donations to our Angel Fund, Fortuna received the treatment she needed, and her eyes are currently looking normal and comfortable. Because this condition can sometimes flare up, her future family should be prepared for the possibility of ongoing or occasional eye treatment.
Fortuna doesn’t let her medical history define her. She’s happy to soak up love, enjoy gentle companionship, and be someone’s devoted feline friend.
She has been spayed, microchipped, and is current on vaccines and flea prevention. Her adoption fee is $50.
As with all New Leash cats, Fortuna must be strictly indoor-only and never declawed, helping her stay safe and healthy.
If you’re looking for a loving, affectionate cat with a soft spirit and a hopeful future, Fortuna may be the good fortune you’ve been waiting for. 🌙✨

More about this rescue
New Leash on Life is dedicated to improving the welfare of companion animals in our community through shelter, placement, spay/neuter, education and awareness.
Our goals include the following:
To educate the public about the importance of having their pets spayed or neutered, and to provide low or no cost surgeries for those in need.
To shelter and provide care for stray, abused, or relinquished animals.
To educate the general population about the seriousness of pet overpopulation.
To end euthanasia as a means of controlling pet overpopulation.
To find good homes for the animals in our care.
Our hope for the future is that there will be no unwanted, unloved or abandoned companion animal. We will continue with our aggressive spay/neuter campaign and our owner education programs in the hopes that any pet ever adopted will find a permanent, loving home. We believe that with the involvement of our community we will make a significant impact on the welfare of companion animals, but we need your help and understanding. Together, will make the difference.
