Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Grace After the Storm
Texas Holly is a female dog who looks like a shepherd mix, with soft, searching eyes and a quiet strength that stays with you. She has been through more than any dog should have to endure, yet she still meets people with calm trust and a tender spirit.
Texas Holly has completed surgery to remove her left hind leg and is now a tripod. The surgery marked the end of a painful chapter and the beginning of healing. She is stable, bright, and already learning how to move through the world on three legs, taking careful steps forward as she recovers. She still needs a foster home where she can rest, feel safe, and continue building strength and confidence in a peaceful space.
What makes Texas Holly remarkable isn’t what she’s lost—it’s what she’s held onto. She is gentle with handling, patient, and quietly affectionate, leaning into reassurance when she needs it most. As a larger dog, she benefits from extra support right now, but her determination shows through in the small moments as she keeps trying.
Tripod dogs can go on to live comfortable, happy lives, and Texas Holly has the heart for it. What she needs now is someone willing to offer a soft place to land while she heals—a home where she can finally exhale, feel cared for, and begin the next chapter she so deeply deserves.
A foster or pre-adopter could be the reason Texas Holly’s story turns from survival into peace.
