This lovely lady is named not only for her velvety soft fur, but also for her strength! Velvet Sky is named after a local professional womens wrestler because she is strong and fiesty! She is sweet and enjoys pets but is quick to kick off her "hock socks." Due to her breed/fur, Velvet is prone to "sore hocks" and will require daily aquaphor on her feet or "hock socks" to prevent the back of her feet from blistering. She has come out of her shell significantly during her time with us and would be a good candidate for bonding with another bunny.
Our adoption fee is a tax-deductible donation of $225. These fees help cover the cost of general care, veterinary exams, RHDV2 vaccination, and spay/neuter surgery performed by a rabbit-trained exotic animal veterinarian.
We primarily adopt to residents of Connecticut, and on a case by case basis, to approved adopters in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New York.
All rabbits are spayed or neutered prior to adoption to ensure their health and wellbeing. Should you choose to adopt a rabbit before they complete their RHDV2 vaccine series, you will be responsible for bringing your new rabbit back to the rescue on the scheduled day of their vaccination.
If you are interested in adopting please fill out an application on our website at https://www.everybunnycountsct.org/adoption/ or at https://tinyurl.com/ebcadoptionapp
Please give our volunteer team up to 10 days to reply to your application. We may reach out by phone or email. Emails may go to junk/spam so please check those folders as well. Thank you!
Of note: we do not, nor have we ever, reserved rabbits. Expressing interest and/or filling out an application is not a guarantee that your application will be approved, nor that you will be matched with the specific rabbit in whom you expressed interest. We do our best to match the correct bunny to the right adoptive home so that they will indeed be a forever home.

More about this rescue
Everybunny Counts Rabbit Rescue has served domestic rabbits in Connecticut and the greater New England area since 2016. We provide veterinary care and rehabilitation for rabbits that have been abandoned, suffered from neglect, or surrendered to our organization. While we keep a small number of permanent sanctuary residents, most of our rabbits are adopted out to loving forever homes within several months of entering rescue.
