7-year-old male Chihuahua, about 12 pounds. Meet Buutz (pronounced “Boots”) he is a strikingly handsome blue merle Chihuahua with a big personality. He was an owner surrender from a breeder. He spent his early years with her making lots of babies before she needed to move in with family. Buutz is a confident and strong-willed little guy. He’s known to bolt if given the chance, so a secure yard is a must. He does well with other dogs when introduced properly, but he’s not a fan of the unpredictable energy of children—so an adult-only home is required. Buutz is a very sweet and cuddly dog with his foster family. While Buutz loves car rides, he’s still learning to feel safe in the world beyond his home. He can be leash reactive and will need continued patient training to help him stay calm on walks. Buutz has been known to nip when scared or overwhelmed, especially in unfamiliar situations. His future family must be experienced with dogs who need structure, patience, and clear boundaries. Buutz has a mild heart murmur that doesn’t currently require treatment, but annual vet checkups are important to monitor his health. If you’re an experienced dog owner looking for a loyal, loving companion who just needs some guidance and patience, Buutz might be your perfect match! More about this rescue
Smidget Rescue was founded in December of 2010. We started off saving small dogs off the euthanasia list in California shelters. We have evolved over the years and now concentrate
on local Washington dogs; from local shelters, direct owner surrenders and strays. We have have found homes for over 3000 dogs since inception.
Our mission is to help rehome homeless and unwanted dogs in Washington State by providing the resources to enable proper matchmaking for the dog and the new family. We do not do same day adoptions because our process requires an application process with reference/background and physical home checks. This process ensures we meet the goals of our mission.
