Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Bernie, a 4-year-old mini Bernedoodle who has already been through more than any dog ever should. Bernie came to us from a puppy mill with a broken back leg, the result of being confined in a cage for far too long. His body is healing, but his heart is still learning that the world can be kind.
Bernie is very under-socialized. He will tolerate being picked up and gently petted, but he shakes the entire time. Not because he’s aggressive or mean—he’s the opposite. Bernie is a sweet, gentle boy who wants to trust, he just doesn’t know how yet. Everything is new, and everything is scary.
This is why we are urgently looking for an experienced foster or a rescue pull—someone who understands fearful dogs, who has patience, time, and a calm environment where Bernie can finally learn what safety feels like. He needs someone willing to move at his pace and take a chance on him.
