My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Elmo!

Elmo came to the Mission after he was presented to the local emergency clinic with a fractured pelvis. He was given time to heal under guidance of a DVM and with proper pain management, and despite all he was faced with, this sweet young gentleman has shown his foster mom that he's a true trooper. His resilience is remarkable, and his demeanor throughout his ordeal has been nothing but sweet and loving.

He is all healed up and has been cleared by his vet for adoption and is ready to find his forever home! We suspect Elmo would do great with other cats, and likely dogs if given slow and proper introductions.

Elmo will come home neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $100.

If you are interested in adopting Elmo, please begin by submitting an application at www.murcismission.org. Thank you for checking out our guy!

More about this rescue

From the day we could talk we told our pets more than we ever told our parents. We took the long route to see the kitty in the window down the street. We stopped even when we were late to pet the dog. We grew up and we saw what the world does to those who can't defend themselves. We are here to change that.

Ethical rescue, including fully vetting every animal and carefully placing them all into homes matched to their physical and mental needs is what we do.

Respecting all life, both animal and human, while retaining an underlying goal of keeping animals in their homes. and fostering a sense of community between local shelters and rescues is how we do it.
