My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

✨ Meet Pixie! ✨

This 18-pound Havanese mix is as precious as her name. Pixie is estimated to be about 2½–3 years old and is the perfect little companion wrapped in soft fluff and gentle eyes.

Pixie came to us as a stray, so we don’t know what her life looked like before — but we do know she’s ready for a much brighter future filled with love, safety, and cuddles. 💗

She can be a little unsure around male dogs, and we suspect she may have been used for breeding in the past. Because of that, Pixie would likely thrive either as the only dog soaking up all the attention or in a home with a calm, submissive female dog who will help her feel secure.

And once she feels safe? Oh, she is SUCH a sweetheart. 🥹
Pixie absolutely adores attention, happily takes treats, and truly wants to be someone’s special girl. She has a soft, loving nature and the kind of gentle presence that makes a house feel like home.

She’s left her past behind and is ready to start her best life — maybe with you. 🌸

💫 Good girl status: Confirmed
💫 Cuddle potential: Extremely high
💫 Best home: Calm, loving, and patient

If you’re looking for a loyal little shadow with a tender heart, Pixie might just be your perfect match. 🐶💖

More about this rescue

The mission of the Raise the Bar-N Foundation is to rescue, care for, and provide compassion to abused and neglected animals, educate the community about responsible pet ownership, and provide opportunities to children and adults with disabilities. We strive to give the voiceless a voice.

My husband and I have been rescuing for years. We also do a great deal with the autism/special needs community. We are hoping to save more animals and help build bonds between animals and children with disabilities. My husband is a firefighter and ex-professional hockey player. I am an expert working with children with disabilities, especially autism. I am passionate about giving the voiceless a "voice".
