Bean is an energetic, playful, and delightfully vocal tabby who loves interactive play, cozy companionship, and keeping an eye on his world from a cat tower. Brave, curious, and smart, he enjoys squeaky toys, teaser wands, toy mice, and anything with catnip.
While Bean doesn’t enjoy being picked up, he loves pets and seeks out closeness and affection on his own terms. He has a moderate activity level and thrives with daily play sessions that keep his busy mind and athletic body happy.
Bean does best in a calm home without young children, as busy environments can increase his anxiety. He has done well with respectful children and previously lived successfully with other young cats, so he may do well as an only cat or with a confident, young feline companion. He has not met dogs yet but may do fine with slow, thoughtful introductions.
Bean originally developed anxiety-related litter box issues when a baby entered his previous home. While he has done wonderfully since starting treatment, his current environment is no longer suitable for him due to conflicts with a senior cat also in the home. Bean currently takes a small daily dose of fluoxetine for anxiety, which he takes easily and cooperatively. Since starting medication, he has had no behavioral or litter box issues and has been accident-free for over six weeks. In a low-stress home, his veterinarian may determine that long-term medication may not be needed. In the meantime, Bean's fluoxetine costs about $12 per month.
Bean is a loving, engaging companion who will bring personality, playfulness, and affection into the right home. 🐱✨
Bean is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and microchipped. If you are interesting in meeting Bean to see if he is a good fit for your family, please fill out our short adoption application and one of our passionate volunteers will call you within one business day to answer any questions and schedule a meet: www.betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application
