My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I'm about the sweetest little guy you will ever meet. I was found along side a busy highway with crud in my eyes and nose. I was a sad site to see. Thank the goodness for some holiday travellers who saw me and saved my life. They took me to Polk County Humane Society where I'm getting great care and working to get well and gain my strength so I can go home with someone just like you!

Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come.

All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, are treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention and dewormed #adoptdontshop

Our Shelter is open every day from 10am-4pm, except Sundays. On Sundays, we are open from noon-4pm.

We are open for walk-ins, but we recommend appointments because some of our pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment with another potential adopter. We just don't want you to come to our location and be disappointed if you can't meet a pet you are interested in.
