My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Beeper’s story starts in a way no dog’s ever should. On a cold night in January she was abandoned in a wire crate outside a local shelter before they opened. She was alone, cold, and struggling with a painful skin condition. Even though it was clear she’d been dumped, she still had to sit through a mandatory “stray hold” period, and all we could do was wait. The moment that hold was up, we were there to bring her to safety.

When Beeper arrived at the rescue, her skin was in rough shape. She had a severe yeast infection that caused significant hair loss on her belly and neck, and she was clearly uncomfortable. Thankfully with antibiotics, medicated baths, and lots of TLC, she’s been healing beautifully. Her skin already looks so much better and will continue to improve over time. While we can’t guarantee all her fur will grow back, the important part is that she’s feeling better every day. Once she’s fully healed, she won’t need ongoing medical care beyond regular baths and routine vet visits.

And through all of it? Beeper has remained incredibly sweet. This girl loves people. She’s a champion cuddler, always ready to snuggle up close or follow her humans around just to be near them. She’s also very treat-motivated (instant best friend status if you’ve got snacks) and prefers to be right in the middle of whatever’s happening.

With other dogs, Beeper is spunky, playful, and full of personality. She’s the type who happily stirs up a game of chase, grabs a toy, and invites everyone to join the fun. She’s got this joyful little spark about her that makes you forget how rough her beginning was.

Beeper has already survived being discarded and overlooked. Now she’s ready for the part of her story that finally gets to be about love, comfort, and belonging. She’s affectionate, playful, resilient, and so deserving of a family who will never leave her behind again. If you’re looking for a sweet and silly girl who will fill your home with cuddles and smiles, Beeper might be your perfect match! Please inquire today!

More about this rescue

Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.
