Earlier this month we got a phone call that a K's alum had been dumped out in the cold in a parking lot - the guy just put his carrier down and drove away. One of our amazing volunteers drove to Mt Laurel to pick up the cat, who we knew nothing about other than the fact he was a black cat and that he had been described to us as being a chonky boy. Knowing nothing of his history we had to do the responsible thing and bring him to a vet for an exam, which is costly (over $300). The vet places his age at approximately 4-5 years old. The vet told us the cat weighed a whopping 30.68 pounds, which earned him the name Chonk (aka Biggie Smalls). Chonk got a rabies shot and tested negative for FeLV/FIV. Chonk had a bunch of bloodwork done, all of which came back unremarkable. Chonk has proven to be very friendly and affectionate. He shocked us by proving he could jump up onto a bed. We are hoping someone is willing to give this big guy a chance. He deserves that much after being dumped in the cold, with his only crime apparently being fat. If you are interested in adopting this big guy and proving that not all people are heartless jerks, please apply to adopt Chonk.
