Meet Dearest
Estimated to be a 2-month-old Lab mix, Dearest is as sweet as her name.
Her story began in Mississippi, where she was living in the woods with her mom and siblings. Thankfully, they were rescued and brought to safety through Wolf Trap Animal Rescue. Now Dearest is discovering the joys of indoor life—and she’s ready for the next chapter: a forever family of her own.
Dearest is the perfect blend of playful goofball and world-class snuggler. She loves people, adores other dogs, and has an infectious zest for life that’s impossible not to smile at. She plays hard in the best way—zoomies, wrestling with her foster sibling, running, pouncing, and rolling around—but she also settles beautifully. Her favorite place to be is with her head in your lap or sitting sweetly at your feet.
She’s fantastic with other dogs and currently plays happily with a much larger German Shepherd mix puppy. She shares toys well and would thrive with a playful canine buddy to learn from. Dearest is still learning leash skills (she arrived just before a big snowstorm), but she’s already working on “sit.” She’s very food-motivated, eager to please, and will blossom quickly with treats and praise.
Dearest is doing great with potty training, sleeps through the night in her crate, and rides well in the car—armed with that irresistible “you can’t be mad at me” charm. She loves running around in her foster’s backyard and soaking up every bit of fun life has to offer.
Dearest will thrive in an active home that can match her joyful energy—whether that means adventures, playtime with another dog, or fun family outings. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, endlessly happy companion who turns every day into a celebration, Dearest is your girl. Day: February 14th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM, an approved adopter must be present to adopt.
