My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Velvet!

Introducing Velvet, our handsome 3-year-old black domestic short hair who came to us as part of a shelter pull with five other cats. Just like his name, Velvet is soft, gentle, and full of quiet sweetness.

Shy at First, Loving Forever

Velvet may take a little time to warm up, but once he does, he shows his loving and affectionate side. With patience and gentle attention, he blossoms into a wonderful companion.

Gentle & Sweet

This sweet boy has a calm nature and a loving heart, making him a great match for a home that understands giving him a little time to feel comfortable.

Healthy & Ready to Go

Velvet is up to date on all vaccines and combo tested negative. He’s healthy, happy, and ready to find his forever family.

Great with Cats & Kids

Velvet would do well with other cats and kids, making him a great fit for a variety of loving homes.

If you’re looking for a gentle, loving kitty who just needs a little time to shine, Velvet could be your perfect match. Come meet him!

More about this rescue

The Homeless Pets Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1998 by Dr. Michael Good, an Atlanta veterinarian who saw a need to create an organization that could assist animal shelters and pet owners in need. In the Atlanta area alone, there are more than 100,000 animals destroyed each year for lack of a home. The Foundation provides critical medical care, food, foster care and comfort to these homeless animals.
